Official Visit of Global Affairs Canada
The High Commissioner of Canada to South Africa, HE Chris Cooter together with senior representatives from the Canadian Trade Commissioners services in SA hosted a lunch meeting last week in honor of Director General Caroline Delany who was on an official visit to SA. MS Delany is responsible for the Southern & Eastern Africa Bureau at Global Affairs Canada.
Corporate SA was well represented by Ms Bongi Kusene, Managing Director of the Banking Association of SA; Mr Cas Coovadia, CEO of Business Unity SA; Mr Nikisi Lesufi, Acting CEO of the Minerals Council of SA and Mr Unathi Mhlatyana, Managing Director of McCain Foods.
Ms Delany was briefed on the challenges facing South African businesses and the implications on the economy. Frank and constructive discussions ensued around the solutions needed to remedy the situation and restore investor confidence in SA.
