Data breaches and cyber-attacks are unfortunately an all-too-frequent reality in 2020, but how prepared would you be if this happened to your organisation? Would you have a clear, effective and robust plan to deal with it quickly and effectively?
When the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”) commenced on 1 July 2020, subject to a one year grace period, it brought with it a compulsory data breach notification obligation (to the Regulator and, in almost all instances, to the affected data subjects) for all entities that process personal information.
Join our experts, Nicole Gabryk and Ridwaan Boda, as they unpack what this means for your organisation and provide guidance on the most important aspects of responding to and surviving data breaches and cyber-attacks.
They will be joined by Danny Myburgh, the Managing Director of Cyanre – The Digital Forensic Lab, who specialise in digital forensic investigations, data fraud trend analysis and incident response, as well as Ryan van de Coolwijk, the Product Head of Cyber at iToo Special Risks, who has expertise in IT security, risk management and cyber insurance.
