Breaking News…
Dear Members and Partners
It was with a deep sense of shock that we learned this morning of the tragic shooting over the weekend in which 16 people, including a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (“RCMP”) Constable were killed.
All nations unite in condemning this senseless act of violence and whilst the motive for the attack is still unknown, the suspected gunman has been identified as Gabriel Wortman who, a RCMP spokesperson confirmed, was found deceased on Sunday morning.
The Canadian Minister of Public Safety , Bill Blair described the tragedy as a “truly heartbreaking day for all of Canada” whilst in a tweet yesterday, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau said “Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the shooting” adding, “we’re keeping you all in our prayers”
We have written to the Canadian Government this morning expressing the heartfelt condolences of the SACANCHAM Board of Directors, members and partners and ask that at this time, you uphold in your thoughts and prayers all Canadians and particularly those families and friends of the many innocent people who lost their lives or were injured in this senseless tragedy.
Please stay safe and continue to take care of your loved ones….
Warm regards
Mike Morgan
