Dear Friends
As 2021 draws to a close, it is an opportune time to reflect on and share some highlights of 2021 with you.
Although we were unable to host in person events due to the ongoing Covid 19 limitations on gatherings, we were able to deliver many webinars across a variety of topical subjects presented by high level speakers. These include JP Landman, Economic & Political Analyst, Cas Coovadia, CEO of BUSA, Bonang Mohale, President of BUSA, Dr John Endres, CEO elect of The Centre of Risk Analysis and Prof Deon Rossouw, CEO of The Ethics Institute. To these and the many other presenters who gave of their time to share their perspectives and insights, thank you for ensuring that our members were kept informed of critical issues in our country.
We are finalizing our event schedule for 2022 which will be published on our website in January. Please submit your ideas and suggestions for speaker events and panel discussions to info@sacancham.com
Undaunted by our inability to interact in person, we hosted a virtual networking session for our members in September and many new relationships were forged and which have since generated new business opportunities for many of our members.
The last twenty months resulted in considerable economic decline the impact of which was felt in impoverished communities. The situation was further aggravated by the July unrest in KZN and Gauteng. The response from Corporate South Africa including several SACANCHAM members, in providing relief funding was most encouraging, a testimony to our generosity of spirit in the face of adversity.
South Africa has often confounded her global critics in overcoming challenges. We remain confident that economic and political stability will be restored and call upon stakeholders in the private and public sectors to intensify engagement in constructive dialogue, implement meaningful reforms and thereby seek to achieve the objective of economic inclusivity.
We were delighted to welcome the following new members to the SACANCHAM community and look forward to presenting them with their membership certificates:
- Veldskoen Shoes
- Icewine Africa
- Eduvos
- WSP Africa
- Kongiwe Environmental
- Molemo Consulting Engineers
- McCain Foods
We encourage you to visit our website at www.sacancham.com where you will be able to access full details of our members and access recordings of webinars hosted during the year.
SACANCHAM fully supports the vaccination drive and urges its members to ignore the conspiracy theorists and media reports intent on spreading disinformation about the Covid 19 virus. Vaccination is a risk mitigation tool to arm yourself against COVID-19 and credible, well researched scientific data from around the world proves that vaccines work in preventing severe illness and death – protect yourself and those around you by vaccinating!
So, as you prepare to take a well-deserved break to recharge after a challenging year, we want to say a sincere thank you for your support of SACANCHAM and look forward to partnering with you into 2022 and beyond.
We wish you and yours a happy festive season and a healthy and prosperous 2022 – If you are going to be on the roads, please travel safely…
Stay safe….
Warm regards
Mike Morgan
