We were delighted to host The Centre for Risk Analysis’ strategic intelligence briefing titled “Towards South Africa’s Tipping Point” presented by Chris Hattingh, Senior Policy Analyst at the CRA.
Chris shared his insights on issues currently facing business leaders including:
- How the political ground shifted in 2021
- Prospects for policy reform and economic recovery
- The future of conflict and cohesion
- The opposition challenge: focus vs fragmentation
- Protest action and a riskier business environment
- Turbulence in trade
Attendees were challenged to consider the impact of these issues and gain a unique understanding of their strategic environment resulting in improved decision-making while mitigating the risk of being blindsided by unanticipated developments.
There was an opportunity for questions during the Q&A session.

Chris Hattingh is Senior Policy Analyst at the Centre For Risk Analysis (CRA). Chris has a special interest in trade, economic, healthcare and investment policy. He is a member of the Global Trade and Innovation Policy Alliance, sits on the advisory council of the Initiative for African Trade and Prosperity, and is a Senior Fellow at African Liberty. Chris holds an MPhil degree in Business Ethics from Stellenbosch University.
